James Pond 2: Codename RoboCod

A PS5 homebrew game · By Gary Riches

A static recompilation by griches of James Pond 2: Codename RoboCod (Amiga, Millennium, 1991): the game's 68000 code is translated into C++, so it runs as a program of its own instead of in an emulator, at 4K on the PS5. It adds what the Amiga never had: true widescreen (the game is redrawn wider from its own state, not stretched), smooth motion at the display's refresh rate, a pause menu (Options) with a quick save and three save slots, a level select, the game's own cheats, crisp, pixel perfect, soft or CRT picture with optional scanlines, Amiga 500 or 1200 sound, rumble and PlayStation buttons. Bring your own Amiga disk image: an .adf of the Kixx re-release or a common cracked disk (Skid Row's, for example), also as .adz or inside a .zip. It goes straight in the title's folder, any file name; the game plays from it with nothing to unpack. The original Millennium release, extended ADF, .dms and .ipf images don't work yet, and the game says which you have.
