IzunaRecomp is a static recompilation of Ninja Gaiden II for Xbox 360. The game's PowerPC code is translated ahead of time into native code, and every frame is drawn by the Kasumi Renderer, IzunaRecomp's own Vulkan renderer, from the game's shaders. There is no emulator in it: no GPU emulation, no interpreter, no JIT. Gameplay and game logic stay 1:1 with the Xbox 360 game. What's in it: - The full game, running natively on the PS5's CPU and GPU, with the shaders built in (no first-start wait) (No actual game files included) - A hub with settings, DLC and Xbox 360 save import, and an in-game menu - PlayStation button prompts in the game's HUD and menus (switchable back to Xbox) - Skip any cutscene with Cross, also the first time you see it (on by default) - A cutscene audio fix that keeps sound in step with the picture - Mod support: replace the game's files and textures, Lua script mods Installing: unzip, copy your extracted game into PPSA94203/Game Data/, copy the PPSA94203 folder to /data/homebrew/ and start it from your homebrew launcher. Already have Ninja's Dawn for PS5 (PPSA94202) installed with the game? IzunaRecomp uses that copy, so there's nothing to copy twice. Good to know: the PS5 build is newer and less tested than the PC ones, so expect rough edges. If something goes wrong, please report it on GitHub with the newest log from /data/homebrew/PPSA94203/logs/. No game data is included: you need your own copy of the game. The code was written by an AI coding agent (Anthropic's Claude, through Claude Code), directed by the maintainer, who tested every build on real hardware.
